Inspired by the paintings and life of Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershoi, Strandgade 30 explores the relationships in Hammershoi’s life and sets them against a backdrop of inspirations from his paintings.

Hammershoi never intended for the viewer to know anything about him yet he allowed the viewer into his most intimate spaces, the rooms in his house. The audience is drawn into each room where a predominantly solo figure exists, creating the mood for the stories that may have passed. Yorke-Edgell collaborates with the cast to create unique individual journeys through these rooms.
