Recuerdo

With music composed especially for the work by longtime Lewitzky collaborator Larry Attaway, Recuerdo seeks to illuminate and decipher the significant events and their consequences that make up a life lived. Lewitzky explores the emotional currents that drive the human heart, using a Greek chorus of dancers to provide the backdrop for a woman’s exploration of her past.

Praise for Recuerdo
Jack Anderson of the New York Times: March 24, 1992
‘must surely be one of Ms. Lewitzky’s best works…infused with emotional power’

Thanks to the Lewitzky Foundation for allowing the company to remount this work, and in particular to Nora Reynolds and John Pennington for their time and energy in helping the company to restage Recuerdo with the attention to detail that Lewitzky’s work demands. Thanks to Melinda Hayes at the Lewitzky Archive, University of Southern California, and Diana MacNeil for her generosity and support.
